I Love Winter
Via Paul Kuznia, FWP

Since 1996, New York State Parks’ Fahnestock Winter Park, also called FWP, has provided excellent Hudson Valley cross country ski and snowshoe opportunities for winter enthusiasts. Over the years, many skiers have asked, “How can we help?”

On Saturday, June 3, at 11 a.m., a group of supporters will meet in Fahnestock State Park at the Taconic Outdoor Education Center (TOEC) to discuss the formation of a Friends group.

If you would like to be part of dynamic group of people helping us improve our services and meet the challenges of the future, please join us on June 3. If other family or work duties call, but you would like to be part of our group, give me a call at 845.265.3773 or send an email to

TOEC is located ten minutes from FWP. From Taconic State Parkway, take Fahnestock Exit (301 West) and travel for about 3.5 miles. Turn left on Dennytown Rd. (there are TOEC signs) travel about a ¼ mile and turn right on Mt. Laurel Ln. Proceed down the long driveway and at the curve bear right. If you are coming from Route 9, go east of 301 to Dennytown Rd. about 2.5 miles and follow above directions. The meeting will take place at Highland Lodge.
